The Emperor Traits
The Emperor is the fourth card of the Major arcana in the tarot. The Emperor is all about advice, wisdom, authority, and leadership. As you know the major arcana is the path of The Fool to enlightenment. The Fool firstly meets with The Magician and High Priestess. As he learns how to use his own willpower in magical ways and how to control that power, he meets with The Empress and she teaches him more about caring for others.
Now The Fool meets with The Emperor who sits on the stone throne. The Emperor is the leader. He is associated with power and wisdom. Everyone obeys The Emperor because he is the leader. The whole empire works perfectly because of him. His is also associated with fatherly love. He is Emperor and he rules the empire. Everything is perfect in the empire because the Emperor is full of wisdom. The system that created the rules, works without any obstacle, that’s why The Emperor is associated with stability and wisdom. The Emperor is about achieving something great. He represents a strong male influence such as a father, or just husband (As you know Major arcana also contains The Empress card which is the partner of The Emperor).
The Emperor is associated also with the person who is the boss, the manager, and ruler of something. He controls everything, he can achieve everything. There are no obstacles that can stop him. He knows the wisdom of life and is very patient. It is these exact traits make him The Emperor, the one who rules the whole empire. When The Fool encounters The Emperor on his path to enlightenment, he asks him for advice. The Emperor tells him to act wisely. The Emperor explains to The Fool to be more creative, imaginative, patient, and instinctive, however, when ruling the empire he should be more dominant, brave, and powerful.
The Emperor is linked with influence and power. He is the first man in his empire and he has to be more powerful while ruling the empire. The Emperor also teaches us that domination of mind over our heart is sometimes not the wisest choice in certain situations, even when we think that it is necessary. As an example, while ruling his empire The Emperor shows that he is more dominant than usual, because it is required of him to be that way in order to pull everyone into line and get them to do what they need to do to keep the empire running smoothly.
The Emperor tells us that when hard choices must be made, it is always important to maintain your concentration. You should be focused on applying your abilities so that you get the end result you’re after. Your focus and concentration will make your journey easy. You should be always confident and believe in yourself no matter what. The Emperor is the complement of The Empress. He represents masculine power and the patriarch. He also represents authority and power. In fact The Emperor is the father figure of the tarot cards. He always defends his loved ones. The Emperor reflects rules and regulations. Due to the specific situations he establishes law and order by applying some principles or guidelines to a specific situation. He is exercising his power of patience and always follows some specific regimen. The Emperor is a powerful leader who demands dominance and authority. When he directs and commands others, he is in his comfortable place. He was born to be a leader and the ruler of the empire, and he knows that. He represents strength and control.
By now, if you have read the previous articles, you are aware of the fact that astrology and tarot are deeply connected with each other. So let’s associate The Emperor with first sign of the zodiac, Aries. In fact, The Emperor is also associated with the planet that rules Aries, which is Mars.
On the one hand The Emperor is linked with Mars and as planet Mars, The Emperor is partner and husband of his Empress (like how Mars is the partner of Venus). As with the planet Mars, The Emperor is very thoughtful, that’s why he is associated with fatherhood. He is father of everyone, he cares about everyone. That makes him even more powerful as the leader of an empire because he is focused on keeping everyone safe and keeping his country running smoothly.
However, on the other hand The Emperor is the first sign of zodiac, Aries. Aries is linked with masculinity, action and power. Aries is all about power and impulsiveness. So as with Aries, The Emperor is filled with energy, power and desire to strive for more power.
Seen on the card is a bearded man sitting on a stone throne. His beard extends to his chest, he is crowned and he wears royal robes. He rules the empire and has much experience and expertise to do so, being the most powerful leader of the time. The white beard shows that The Emperor has plenty of age and experience to rule, and his wisdom is definitely worth listening to. This simply means that we should listen to elders and learn more from them. In doing so we may prevent repeating the same mistakes that they made.
As we see on the card, the ram is a symbol of his determination, action, assertive decisions and leadership. This ram is also the sign of Aries, which is associated with The Emperor in astrology. There is a cross at the top of the staff. In this particular case, it is the symbol of balance because this cross is associated with the four directions (East, West, North, South).
The Emperor is associated with maximum achievement, with authority, protection, support, and willpower. He is trustworthy and has self-discipline.
When this card appears you should be ready for something impressive. Now you can fulfil and achieve all of your dreams and goals if you will pursue them. But never forget that The Emperor is powerful only because he has strong discipline and he is very patient. So when this card appears you are being encouraged to have more patience and wait for your chance. You can expect new challenges in your work, where you will be required to pay particular attention to organisation and logic.
Remember that you have the wisdom within you, so just be very patient and work hard, and if you do your results will be stellar. This card also shows you that you need more discipline and logic to get more finances. Pay attention to what you have and strive for more. Strive for greatness. This card shows you that you are the ruler of your world and you should manage your time and life. Be patient and pay more attention to your logic.

Here’s a site where you’ll find my writings.
The Bravehearts of Belgrave High is now published. I have completed the first in a series of novels that I wrote for teens. It is the courageous story of a young girl growing up in a home filled with domestic violence. She also has to endure a school and neighbourhood full of bullies. We read how she maneuvres her way through such a difficult situation. Plus, how she grows because of it, among other themes in the novel.
The desired outcome for young readers is that they will be inspired to treasure their unique differences. If they don’t fit in with the system or with those around them, then they should realise that it’s quite okay not to fit in.
My first novel was written to help raise funds for the private foundation that I established, which might later become a charity. Click here if you’d like to be taken to the site where you can purchase this novel. If you cannot see the site, use a browser other than Chrome.
