The Chariot Traits
As you may already know from having read the previous articles, the Major Arcana is the path of The Fool. The seventh card of the Major Arcana is called The Chariot. This card is very powerful. In fact The Chariot is associated with unlimited power and energy. The Chariot simply means that The Fool has the all the power that he needs within him and he can use it anytime and anywhere. The Fool has the willpower and The Chariot says that with this will power, The Fool can achieve everything that he wants. However, The Fool must do his best in order to achieve that.
The Chariot is associated with ambition and power, and also with determination. The Chariot means that despite the fact that you have all the power, you still have to move forward in order to achieve new goals and levels and to get things done. As we stated above The Chariot is associated with ambition, which means that The Fool has to achieve new goals every time. He must not stop: he has to test and achieve everything because The Fool has all the power and ambition to be the best. The Chariot means that if you have goals you simply have to do your best and it will be easily achieved because you have the power within you. You just have to believe in yourself.
You should foresee the fact that you have to take a long journey before achieving a new goal and you must not give up. In the end, everything will be good, and in fact, this card is very complex. The Chariot is associated with victory after hard and long relentless effort. You have to use determination and push through every obstacle. You have to use your own power which is within you and nothing is impossible after that. But remember that everything needs time, so you have to be patient.
This card is also linked with domination. After you reach your goals, you will have shown that you have a strong enough will that you’ll be able to get your will to subjugate itself to your commands. Everything will be in your hands. The Chariot means that you are the hero of your story, so you have to believe in yourself. All the power is within you and you are being advised to use it. We should also mention the fact that The Chariot is associated with tremendous focus and determination in order to accomplish any task or goal. After all this effort, drive and focus, The Chariot is achieving goals without any obstacles. In the Major arcana this card refers to all the various aspects of the journey of The Fool.
The Chariot represents all the effort needed for The Fool to finish his journey. The Chariot is the whole road and story of The Fool. This road includes all the strength, power and discipline which The Fool has within him. The Chariot tells us that no matter what, we have to find hidden power within us in order to achieve our goals, and this path will be very easy if you use your hidden power.
This card has some key symbols so let’s talk about those. As you can see, in the Rider Waite Chariot card there is the crown which contains five pointed stars. This simply means that the owner of this crown is striving for perfection. To be the best and to reach everything you have to find power within you. This is the main symbolism of the five-pointed stars. These stars mean that the thoughts of the wearer of the crown come from the power they have within, and the mind is ready to achieve everything. The crown also means that after discovering your inner power, you are unstoppable and you wear an unseen crown that will lead you to success.
There are also two horses which each have different meanings. One is associated with vitality and the other is associated with physicality. Sometimes the horse is linked with instinctual power and The Fool has to find that kind of power to achieve high levels. These horses are the symbols of speed, of thoughts, and speed of actions. They are also symbols of the path and road which will be passed by The Fool. When you join with your inner power, it is very easy to reach your goals because unseen horses will help to hasten your goals.
Another key symbol of this card is definitely the moon. The moon is associated with unseen power and magic, with unseen forces that help us to obtain our goals. This simply means that on your path to reaching your goals, unseen forces will always help you. The moon is also linked with the unconscious mind and with thoughts that are coming from the unconscious mind. This is where our hidden powers reside – in the unconscious mind. If you truly want to reach something then unseen forces will help you to discover your own powers to achieve what you want. But you have to strive and work diligently towards your goals.
As you may remember from the previous articles, the tarot and astrology are tightly linked with each other. The Chariot is associated with the zodiac sign Cancer. Cancer is ruled by the Moon and as we stated above The Moon is one of the key symbols of this card. Cancer and the Moon are associated with the mysteries and unseen forces that are helping us through unconscious and thoughts.
If this card appears during your tarot reading, you are being asked to believe in yourself. As we stated above this card is very complex. Sometime it appears when you have achieved something great or sometimes it appears when you have something great coming in the not too distant future. Not only do you have to believe in yourself and find all the inner power to reach your goals, but trust that all the unseen forces are assisting you through your unconscious mind so you are being asked to listen to those inner promptings of the thoughts that drift through your head. However, do not forget that you’ll also need determination and perseverance. This card illustrates the whole path to your goal, all the forces trying to hold you back and beliefs that you have which may or may not be beneficial to you. This card also points to your ambition and tells you that if you have a dream that you want to achieve, then you have to go for it.
Futhermore…..
The Chariot represents combined powers and readiness to move forward. It represents the deep desire in all humans to proceed forward in life, and it represents the ability to use our inner strength in order to keep going i.e. our willpower. It also represents balance, both outer and inner. It is card number 7 in the Major arcana, which represents the number of earthly and divine harmony (3 + 4). 7 represents destiny and motion.
The Chariot represents someone with a very strong will, a strong personality, and in its lighter aspects, it represents victory and success. It’s a card that fits well for someone who can pull themselves up by their own bootstraps and start again whenever life throws them a curveball. On a darker note, it represents controversial power (power by self-assertion) for situations that are not solved but instead are controlled. You also need to be aware when this card appears in your life that you don’t overestimate the mark when aiming for something you want or are trying to create. Don’t be reckless with your energy. With every new start of every new adventure in life, be that a relationship, a career, a family, a country to live in etc, you should always check to see if what you’re aiming for is what you actually and will it be compatible with your life and inner self.
The Chariot also represents the armour that we put on when we step out into the world and assert ourselves in different situations. We are reminded not to meld that assertive armour into our personality – one has to be able to put the armour on when needed, and take it off again when not needed. The way of armoured power isn’t always the right way. Sometimes situations require compassionate negotiations in order to come to an agreement on an issue. It’s important not to exert too much control and it’s also important not to suppress other people.
The drive behind The Chariot is: the will to conquer. Also, it is courage that leads to victory.
The Light side of The Chariot card is: the awakening of powers, finding your way through, and discovering one’s place in life.
The Shadow side of The Chariot is: insensitivity to others, pushing through using force to get things done, delusional fantasies of having or wanting power, over others, and inflated self-esteem.

Here’s a site where you’ll find my writings.
The Bravehearts of Belgrave High is now published. I have completed the first in a series of novels that I wrote for teens. It is the courageous story of a young girl growing up in a home filled with domestic violence. She also has to endure a school and neighbourhood full of bullies. We read how she maneuvres her way through such a difficult situation. Plus, how she grows because of it, among other themes in the novel.
The desired outcome for young readers is that they will be inspired to treasure their unique differences. If they don’t fit in with the system or with those around them, then they should realise that it’s quite okay not to fit in.
My first novel was written to help raise funds for the private foundation that I established, which might later become a charity. Click here if you’d like to be taken to the site where you can purchase this novel. If you cannot see the site, use a browser other than Chrome.
