Silencing the Mind Through Meditation
Meditation is conscious comprehension without the interference of the ego. ‘Conscious,’ meaning with the consciousness. Self-observation is the basis of it, yes, but real meditation is the activity of the consciousness free of ego. This article will help move you towards the skill of Silencing the Mind Through Meditation.
‘Consciousness’ has to be understood in this case to know what that means. That means that to be in real meditation there is no “I,” there is no “Me,” there is no ego, there is no pride, there is no anger. You have to learn the science of meditation, how to separate from the ego, how to observe the ego as a free consciousness. In other words, you have to learn how to enter into the state of Dhyana, or Pratyahara, which is a silent mind.
From that process of Dhyana, Dharana, and Samadhi, we then learn how to activate the consciousness and be free from the animal mind. In that state, we are Will. We are manifesting and experiencing the two aspects of the Being as soul, Divine Soul, and Human Soul, Divine Consciousness, and Human Consciousness. That is what meditates. And to access that you have to separate yourself from intellect, from emotion, from sensation, from all these lower parts. And this is a discipline.
There are many techniques that can lead you to that experience, whether from Zen, or from Buddhism, or from Hinduism, even Christianity, many techniques. But the essential experience remains the same: we have to become free of the ego in order to comprehend the ego itself. The ego cannot comprehend the ego. Pride cannot comprehend itself, only consciousness can, because consciousness is part of our Being.

Here’s a site where you’ll find my writings.
The Bravehearts of Belgrave High is now published. I have completed the first in a series of novels that I wrote for teens. It is the courageous story of a young girl growing up in a home filled with domestic violence. She also has to endure a school and neighbourhood full of bullies. We read how she maneuvres her way through such a difficult situation. Plus, how she grows because of it, among other themes in the novel.
The desired outcome for young readers is that they will be inspired to treasure their unique differences. If they don’t fit in with the system or with those around them, then they should realise that it’s quite okay not to fit in.
My first novel was written to help raise funds for the private foundation that I established, which might later become a charity. Click here if you’d like to be taken to the site where you can purchase this novel. If you cannot see the site, use a browser other than Chrome.
