Feminism is a Tax Issue
I believe that the feminist movement that was orchestrated during the mid 20th century by those who stood to benefit from double-income households, was not a step forward for women at all. All that it did was give us more to do while pushing the price of housing up and giving the taxation departments in each country another source of revenue. Feminism is not the altruistic movement that it makes itself out to be. Feminism is a tax issue.
Plus, instead of solving the problem of abuse, it merely added to the strain on women and the division in the family. The most often remembered prototype of the Feminism movement are those who have resentment or hatred towards men. There are other feminists who weren’t influenced by the famous women that were chosen to promote the idea of feminism. Women such as Germaine Greer, Gloria Steinem, and Adrienne Rich. These famous women were given the media coverage needed to be seen and heard by a multitude of women in the public sector. Thus, they could actually influence how women think. The quiet ones whom I’m referring to and who aren’t famous, stand up for the rights of women in a necessary way.
Society has been taught that men are to act a certain way, and women are to subjugate themselves to men. The Feminists who are needed are those who step in whenever there has been an abuse of power. This may have occurred by either individual men or groups of men or institutions mostly run by men – such as the police force. Those Feminists are not usually aligned with the same way of thinking that the prototype Feminists have.
My belief is that men and women should be treated with equal respect, but should not be expected to do the same things. A woman’s strengths are different from a man’s strengths, and a good mother who is present for her children is worth far more than twenty child care agencies could ever be to a child.

Here’s a site where you’ll find my writings.
The Bravehearts of Belgrave High is now published. I have completed the first in a series of novels that I wrote for teens. It is the courageous story of a young girl growing up in a home filled with domestic violence. She also has to endure a school and neighbourhood full of bullies. We read how she maneuvres her way through such a difficult situation. Plus, how she grows because of it, among other themes in the novel.
The desired outcome for young readers is that they will be inspired to treasure their unique differences. If they don’t fit in with the system or with those around them, then they should realise that it’s quite okay not to fit in.
My first novel was written to help raise funds for the private foundation that I established, which might later become a charity. Click here if you’d like to be taken to the site where you can purchase this novel. If you cannot see the site, use a browser other than Chrome.
