You Are Precious to Me
I know that I say “I love you!” lots of times. But it’s usually as I’m walking out the door and running late for whatever is on the calendar.
But today, maybe I can slow time down a little bit. I want to tell you how precious that love really is and how much you mean to me. My heart is so grateful for you. I’m grateful for the bond that we share and the hopes that we have. Not to mention the many things that we’ve been blessed with.
I consider the day I fell in love with you to be the best day my world has ever known. My next best day was the day that I knew that you loved me too.
I have absolutely cherished the times that we have had together. Nothing compares with the joy that you bring me. Or, the feelings that you inspire, or the days just spent side by side and hand in hand. Quietly understanding that what we have been given is a gift that will continue to bless our lives.
Our everyday world can get too busy for us to say the special things as often as we should, I know. But deep within my heart, what makes life worth living are the things that come to us through our life. Our friendships, our daily blessings, and our faith in what lies ahead.
I want to tell you all these things in a way that will allow you to hold on to them forever. And if you could ever use a reminder of how much I admire and love and appreciate you, maybe these words can help me say that I truly do…. with all my heart.

The Bravehearts of Belgrave High is now published. I have completed the first in a series of novels that I wrote for teens. It is the courageous story of a young girl growing up in a home filled with domestic violence. She also has to endure a school and neighbourhood full of bullies. We read how she maneuvres her way through such a difficult situation. Plus, how she grows because of it, among other themes in the novel.
The desired outcome for young readers is that they will be inspired to treasure their unique differences. If they don’t fit in with the system or with those around them, then they should realise that it’s quite okay not to fit in.
