Justice Card Emerald Tolemac

The Justice card brings awareness to the importance of balance by demonstrating that true understanding, and hence justice, is only achieved when the emotions (symbolised by water and the moon), and intellect (symbolised by the sword), are balanced. Continue Reading

Wheel of Fortune Card Emerald Tolemac

This is a very complex card with many, many symbols on it. As such, it will require a very long explanation.

The Wheel of Fortune card is ruled by the four fixed signs of the zodiac: Taurus, Leo, Aquarius and Scorpio, as represented by the Bull, the Lion, the Angel, and the Eagle, which can be found at the four corners of the card. The fixed nature of these signs means that they are stable and dependable. This should reassure the questioner, for it can be alarming to get Wheel of Fortune in your reading; it seems that the entire smorgasbord of experience is at one’s fingertips. In Hebrew tradition, there is a prayer that can be translated as, “The whole world is a very narrow bridge; the important thing is not to be afraid.” This lets us know that although there is a myriad of options, there is a path that resonates most with a particular soul and, never fear because this card can help you attune to that resonance. Strength Card Emerald Tolemac

There is much unseen work behind strength, such as fighting inner demons and confronting the lower nature. Continue Reading

The Heirophant Card Emerald Tolemac

The Hierophant is at once remote and welcoming, teacher as well as a gatekeeper. The questioner can learn much from him about the realm of spirit. He can be thought of as the male counterpoint to the High Priestess, and the nighttime companion to the daylight authority of the Emperor. His masculine spiritual power is something he wants to transmit. Continue Reading

The Magician Card Emerald Tolemac

Here we see Merlin the Magician with his right arm lifted and his hand holding a wand (earth) pointing to the sky (air) and creating the sign of Infinity (timelessness) in the air above him with the wand. The left arm is essentially hanging at his side (earth), the forearm lifted enough to allow the hand to form the letter “M” that we see in sign language when deaf people communicate. This simply reinforces the M needed for the Mastery that is required when one fuses their base self with their higher self and becomes the Magician. Continue Reading

The Fool Card Emerald Tolemac

The Fool reminds us that while going with our intuition may seem foolish, especially to others, when we do so, we are supported by spirit. While spirit is unseen, it does manifest itself in the world around us. When we recognise that spirit is leading us, it makes itself more available to us. Furthermore, the message of this card is that only when we journey with purity and steadfast faith toward the promptings of spirit, can we hope to achieve the great destiny meant for us. We can’t hope to bring to fruition a successful outcome for the challenge that we are facing without that purity and faith. In a Tarot spread, The Fool reminds us of these things. Continue Reading
